Ques. 1     What is osteoporosis? What are its symptoms?

Ans.           Osteoporosis is produced when the total bone mass diminishes, leaving the bone brittle and fragile. It is a common disease that oc-curs in women after menopause.

The symptoms are: Bones that are easily fractured, a pain around the bone or a reduction of the bone height. This disease occurs mainly in women since they have 30% less hone mass. It occurs in the beginning at the age of 40 and affects approximately 25% of post-menopausal women.

Ques. 2     What are the frequent causes of osteoporosis?       

Ans.          The most frequent causes:

  • An estrogen deficiency (hormone) in women
  • An inability of absorb enough calcium through the intestine
  • An imbalance of phosphorus and calcium
  • A lack of vitamin D which is required to absorb calcium
  • A lack of exercise

Ques. 3     Which minerals are suggested for osteoporosis?    

Ans.           Minerals : calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and fluorine and Vitamins: C, D, E and B12; in addition to proteins.

Dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt contain a lot of calcium.

Ques. 4     Which Biochemic is useful for bones?

Ans.           Bioclemic No. 19 for Rheumatism is a general tonic.
