About 75 % of human is made up of water that’s why its play an important role in our body. Hot weather, diarrhoea, vomiting, excessive sweating, increased urination and many other disease can causes an adequate amount of water loss. And this condition when the body loses more water than it takes is called dehydration. This imbalance disrupts the normal levels of salts and sugars in the blood, which can interfere with the way the body functions. Therefore severe dehydration can be fatal.

There are so many conditions which can lead to dehydration such as:

Sign of dehydration:

• Coconut water

Coconut water is really hydrating because it is extremely full of electrolytes. In dehydration it works better than water as it has more mineral content (particularly potassium and iron) then water. 

In emergency it can be also used as saline solution. A regular intake of coconut water can help u to combat mild as well severe dehydration.

• Watery Fruits and Vegetables

A patient suffering from dehydration should increase the intake of water-rich fruits and vegetables. They are going to hydrate the body twice as effectively as a glass of water. Some fruits and vegetables which are best in dehydration are watermelon, grapefruit, radishes, strawberries, cucumber, grapes, oranges papaya, lettuce, spinach, and tomatoes. Fruits and vegetables are rich source of salts, minerals and sugars needed by hydrated person. They can be taken in form of soup or salad.

• Lemon Juice

Lemon juice along with 1tsp sugar and with pinch of salt works better then plain water in dehydrated condition.

• Yogurt

Yogurt restoring normal amounts of potassium and sodium. You can use yogurt with 1 tsp fenugreek powder in dehydration condition.

• Buttermilk

Take a cup of buttermilk along with1 tsp fenugreek powder or ½ tsp of dry ginger three to four times in a day to treat chronic dehydration. It helps to restore the minerals and electrolyte.

• Bananas

A banana is good for restoring potassium that has lost up during dehydration. You can also have banana soothies.

• Elderflower

Elderflower reduces the symptoms of dehydration by lowering the body temperature. It is also used in reducing sunburn, bronchial ailments, along with encouraging perspiration, which cools the body.

• Chamomile

Chamomile tea is one of the old favourite decaffeinated teas used for fluid replacement. Besides this it also act as organic pain killer and widely used in digestive problem to alleviate them.
