Dairy products are regarded as nature's most complete food. They are additionally referred as power house of nutrients.  So we don’t need to go anywhere else to build a healthy body. These products consist of nutrients (calcium, potassium, phosphorous, protein, vitamins A, D, B12, riboflavin and niacin) and protein which are essential for the growth of the body besides all this fermented milk consist of lactobacilli group which have a cleansing and healing effect on our digestive tract.  

So dairy products which can really help you to build your healthy body are:

Nutrition value of dairy products:

1) Milk: 

Milk is good source of energy, protein and nutrients. It consists of Lactose, sodium, protein, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, calcium, magnesium and zinc. Our body needs these entire components to work properly and to grow or repair themselves. 

Besides all this milk contain more of saturated fat, eating too much fat can contribute to excess energy intake, leading to becoming overweight. So it’s very important to choose a right dairy product. So if you don’t want to put over weight you can choose semi-skimmed milk or skimmed milk.

2) Yogurt: 

Yogurt is fermented milk, which contain a bacterium from the Lactobacilli group. These bacteria improve the digestion power. It contains all of the nutrients found in milk with reduced lactose which make it more suitable for those with lactose intolerance. All these constituent make yogurt a well known healthy product.

3) Butter milk: 

Buttermilk is just a liquid left behind after churning butter out of cream. Due to these churning processes the fat content of buttermilk is far lower than milk and yogurt. It also contains probiotic microbes which are beneficial to the gut and helps in boosting up immunity when taken regular. Buttermilk consists of calcium, vitamins, potassium, and traces of phosphorus. It is one of the favourite traditional drinks in summer as well as in winter. Its regular intake provides you healthy gut and healthy body. 

4) Butter:

Butter is made by churning fermented cream, to separate the butterfat from the buttermilk. So butter is basically composed of fat, or we can say it is high calorie food. 1 tsp butter contain 101 calorie (similar to one medium sized banana).

Butter is one of the best source of vitamins A needed to Maintain eye vision along with this it had fat soluble vitamins (vit  D,E and K). It has great source of minerals with excellent source of good cholesterol. 

5) Cheese:

As we all know cheese is made by pressing milk curd. Cheese contains proteins, vitamins ( vit C, B-6, B-12, A, D, E and vitamin K), fat, calcium and minerals which make bones and muscles strong along with a balanced metabolism. The high-quality protein in cheese provides the body with essential building blocks for strong muscles. 

Importance of cow’s milk and its by product:

AYURVEDA has described eight types of milk obtained from different animal sources and the pride of place has been given to Cow milk. Cow milk has been delineated as alimentary and smart for the very important organs like the Eyes, Brain and Heart. It possesses sweet style (Madhura rasa) and is cooling (Sheetha veerya) in nature. Cow Milk promotes immunity and acts as rasayana and ojovardhaka.
