High Calories Food That Can Make You Gain Weight

While many people seem to be interested only in how to lose weight and drop extra kilos. But there are others who want to put on a little bit of weight and gain some pounds.

Unfortunately, most of the people take unnecessary supplements and unhealthy junk food to put on weight, without checking out healthy natural foods for weight gain. If you want to improve weight, don't trust on junk foods that aren't nutritious.

Choose the High-calorie food whenever possible. Some of the high calories foods that helps to make you gain weight are as follows:

1. Tahini

At 80 calories and 8 grams of fat per tsp, Tahini (also known as sesame butter) is a high-calorie food. It's full of healthy ingredients like vitamin B and even rich in calcium, it's also easy to go outboard. Stick to a table tennis ball-sized serving (about two tablespoons) to keep your calories in check.

2. Quinoa

We love quinoa as a tasty and healthy protein source; many dieters mistakenly believe it's a much lower-calorie alternative to rice. In reality, two cup of cooked quinoa has 220 calories, putting it on par with brown rice (which has around 215 calories per cup).

Enjoy it in your favourite healthy dish, just be sure to part it out as you would rice or pasta (1 cup or about the size of your fist).

3. Raisins

They aren't nutrition villains, but raisins are considered a good  'calorically dense' food, meaning that you can take a lot of calories by eating only a small amount. For example, one small 1.5-ounce box contains 120 calories.

You can eat 1/2 kg of grapes for the same price, making this one snack you're better off by substituting (if you are starving) to maximize your calories.

4. Pecans

While nuts like pecans are a good source of protein, heart-healthy fat, vitamins and minerals; It's a one of the best high calories food. A 1-ounce serving of pecan halves contains 190 calories.

5. Dark Chocolate

Don't make us wrong; we're huge fans of dark chocolate. It's just easy to get carried away with this delicious treat. Some bars can contain as much as 500 calories. The lesson? Just because it's dark doesn't mean that you can eat more of it.

Snap off a one-inch square to enjoy after dinner. "Too much may constipate you or leave you wired before bedtime," says Amie Valpone, Nutrition expert and author of The Healthy Apple blog.

6. Whole Wheat Bread

Whole wheat bread is one of the best high calories food. Don't let the "whole wheat" label fool you mostly prepared whole-wheat bread contains the same amount of calories as white bread. Make Sure to check the label of your favourite brand.

Whole-wheat bread add more sugar or high-level fructose corn syrup to make up for the flavour lost with the extra calories.
