Diabetes and blood pressure are stated as the two important reasons for problems related to kidneys in humans. When it comes to kidney stones, they can be caused due to a number of reasons like improper lifestyle, diet habits, etc. Generally, formation of these stones and their disposal through urine is a normal process that happens in many humans without their knowledge. These stones do not create any problem, until they are in kidneys. They are of different types like these stones like xanthine, calcium oxalate and other types as well. Reports state that uric acid can also contribute towards formation of these stones, but this will happen rarely.

Signs of stones in kidneys:
In general, there will not be any specific symptoms experienced by the patients, unless and until there is a movement of the stone in the urinary tract or when the stone/s becomes bigger in size. Some of the common symptoms include:
• Fever and chills associated with urinary infection
• Foul-smell when urinating
• Pain during urination
• Wave of pain then and there in the stomach area that fluctuates in severity
• Harsh pain in the sides and back, under the ribs
• Severe pain in the lower ports of abdomen and groin
• Pink, brown or red urine
• Continuous push to urinate
• Nausea and vomiting
• Lesser urination than usual
Treatment for stones in kidneys:
Generally, doctor will prescribe medications that can help in breaking the stones, such that they can easily get released through urine. But, if the pain is intolerable, surgical removal may be suggested.
Precautions to prevent stones in kidneys:
• Reports state that the important reason behind stone in kidneys is the lack of required water content in the body. A body that is dehydrated generally can open up the door for stones. When the right level of water needed by the body in a given day is taken, not only removal, but also prevention of stones is possible. It is recommended that people fighting with stones will have to consume at least 4 liters of water per day and they are also recommended to bring down the sugar content from the diet.
• Higher calcium content in the body can also lead to this issue. It is suggested that people should not take more or less than 1200 mgs of calcium per day. For ensuring proper functioning, it is important that there should be proper level of calcium. In the case of lesser calcium content, cream-less milk can be taken daily. Butter milk can also supply the body with the calcium.
• If a patient is diagnosed to have oxalate stone, it is better to avoid oxalate-rich foods like soy products, chocolates and green leafy vegetable
• Also, there are chances of stone formation for people including foods that are rich in vitamin C in their diet.
