Fascia is stated as the life force in the human body next to the blood and experts state that it can be imagined as the most sensitive and highly interconnected system in the human body. As this single element is responsible for organizing and suspending the parts like muscles, bones and organs, structured and toned muscles in the human body would turn into hamburger meat. This is a tissue that it sensitive to each and every hormone in the body and it is stated that it recoils itself with every bruise and bump that is sustained by the body.
What is it?
It is the system of connective tissue fibers that is present just under the skin surface. When viewed under a microscope, it can be seen that it is highly organized in a mesh formulation of tubules that are filled with water. Its important job is to separate muscles and internal organs, enclose, stabilize and attach them.
What does it do?
It is wrapped all through the body and it can bring together toes to brow in a single uninterrupted sheet and fingers to neck and chest. There is the heart fascia that is enjoined to the collarbone that is attached to the arm and fingers. It curls around the nerves, veins, arteries, organs, muscle bundles, muscle fibers and bones, applying compression and tension to the body material it surrounds. This is what people feel when they have a physical pain or when they stretch. It is the tension of the fascia around the area of sensation that gives the thought of tightness. Ligaments and tendons are layers of this tissue that are meant for absorbing shock and for distribution of the impact. In the case of shortened, dehydration and tightness of tendons, they will not be in a position to absorb impact, thereby causing pain.
It also has an organ suspension function as each and every organ in the human body like intestines, stomach and liver are not suspended without any connection to the external body. Each of these organs is connected through fascia that is connected to pelvis, ribs and spine. These connections enjoin with the muscle fascia that bring an effect on the movement. The sitting posture, exercise and breath of individual will all bring about an effect on the health of the organs. The reason is that they are fascially connected to the muscles that are used for day-to-day activities.
How does it work?
This tissue is something that is sensitive to all movements. For instance, when an individual sits in front of the computer, this tissue will get pulled in the low back and hips and if the person crosses his legs, bladder and knees, the same thing will happen to this tissue.
Why it is important?
Every movement in the human body like fluid movement, health organs, injury-free sports and joint health relies on healthy integrated fascial system. This means that each and every part of the body should be taken care without neglecting even a single one.
