Many people search for home remedies for a cough as this is one of the most common health problems experienced by men, women and particularly children. They will be inactive and this can create a great deal of discomfort in the mind of parents, particularly the mum. The mum can try out  natural remedies for a cough in kids with some ingredients that will be easy on kids.

Honey:

Kids generally love honey and so this excellent substance can be used for treatment. Honey has the ability to soothe the inflammation in the throat in kids and can suppress a cough. If the child is 2-5 years old, the mum can give about half a teaspoon, and if the kid is more than 12 years, two teaspoons of honey can be given. However, honey should not be given as a home remedy for infants below one year of age as it can lead to botulism in them.

Ginger:

Ginger can bring the excellent cure for a cough and adults can chew fresh raw ginger all through the day then and there to get excellent cough relief. Even, ginger can be sliced into smaller pieces and can be added to a cup of water that can be brought to the boil. This can act as an excellent herbal solution not just for a cough, but also for congestion and sore throat as well. Lemon extract and honey can be added to this herbal solution to reduce the spicy flavour of ginger.

How About Home Remedies During Pregnancy?

Home remedies for a cough while pregnant should be carefully chosen by women as any medication is restricted during this period. Coughs when carrying can be highly miserable, but the thing moms will have to remember here is that even severe and persistent cough will not cause any harm to the growing fetus in any way. Here are some remedies for carrying mums:

Grapes:

The carrying mom can include grapes in her diet for a couple of days. The reason is that grapes can act as an expectorant and can tone up the lungs to relieve a cough.  Grapes can relieve annoying lung congestion. Grapes are fruits that are rich in vitamin C and so they can address the progression of different types of coughs regardless of whether dry or a cold-related cough.

Basil leaves:

Basil leaves due to its immune-boosting properties can provide excellent relief to cold and cough. Pregnant women with a cough can take a teaspoon of paste prepared from basil leaves and can add it to honey for consumption. Otherwise, basil leaves can be simply boiled in water and can be brought to the boil. Once the water turns green, the leaves should be filtered, and decoction can be consumed with honey and water. Honey can bring down the pain in the throat as one of the best home remedies for a cough.

If u take honey with sitopaladi churna of ayurveda,anorexia or loss of hunger problem can be cured. U can apply honey on face as a moisturiser. You can eat honey as a dietary source also.
