Most of you have never heard about pineapple using for dry cough. But this fruit actually contains a compound Bromelain which acts as an anti-inflammatory and looses the tickled sputum in your throat. You can add this fruit in your daily fruit salad with roasted jeera (cumin) powder.
Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis)
The extract of roots and leaves of this herb contain mucilage which helps to soothes inflamed mucous membrane. It also acts as the stimulating agent for the immune system. Its extracts are taken in the form of tea or capsules.
Leaves of this herb are rich sources of flavonoid which relax muscles and shrinks the inflamed tissues of the throat. It is also used in short-term bronchitis patient and other respiratory illness.

Honey and lemon
Research says that honey contains dextromethorphan (DM) which loosen the phlegm and suppress a cough. Honey and lemon is one of the oldest home remedies for dry cough. Lemon consist vitamins and citrus acid which work on congestion. For dry cough, honey can also be used with hot water, hot milk or i.e. with ginger green tea.
Ginger is one of the strong anti-oxidant with anti-microbial properties, both effective for relieving dry cough. Ginger can also blend well with traditional mulling spice which then works as a cleansing agent for the upper respiratory tract. You can just chew a raw ginger 4-5 times a day or can have ginger decoction with honey.
It also comes under the category of home remedies for dry cough. Onion possesses anti-inflammatory, anti spasmodic, and sweat- inducing properties. Onion juice or paste when taken with honey helps in the soothing throat and provide relief from dry cough.
Steam loosens phlegm and act as a bronchi dilator when some oil with anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral property is added to it.
For steaming inhalation take a pot with half of it filled with water, boil it on stoves. Then carefully take it out of the stove, now cover your head with a towel and inhale the steam for 10 minutes.
