Follow up: When you find some changes in the appearance of your nails, it is better to seek medical help. Generally, some factors like sunburns during childhood, extended sun exposure and fair skin can increase your chances of skin cancer.

3. Your Complexion: You should check your complexion, when you see thick hair or sprouting pimples in the face. These conditions can be caused due to PCOD. In addition, other issues like overproduction of male sex hormones, insulin resistance and irregular periods can also lead to thick hair in your face, toes, thumbs, back, stomach and chest. There is nothing to panic as one in every 10 women in childbearing age have PCOS issue. However, it can lead to serious problems like diabetes, metabolic syndrome and infertility.

Follow up: You can talk to your doctor, who may recommend an ultrasound, blood test and pelvic exam to identify the reason behind your issue. The doctor might be recommending some lifestyle changes and some medicines to help you in getting out of PCOS issue.

In addition to the above-mentioned three warning signs about the presence of health issues in your body, you should also look for a patch or rough dark skin. You should also look for some changes in your eyelids and when they are pumpy, they can mean small deposits of cholesterol under your skin.
