Males, in their superannuation, must change their food habit, as compared to their habits of 20s, so that they can keep their weight off. With the progression of their age, any male (or female) will become less active, gain fat and loose muscle. All these factors are responsible for slowing down the metabolism.

How to keep metabolism up?

Many things are helpful in keeping the metabolism up. The most important one is regular physical exercises.

How to balance your calorie intake?

If you are a male and your age is 50 or above, you are to balance your calorie by at least half an hour’s physical activities in as many as days in a week. With the regular exercises, a person, who is 50 and above, can rev up metabolism by exercising regularly. Regular exercise also helps a person to build up as well strengthen muscle, while increasing energy levels. The additional advantage of regular exercises are boosting up of your spirits.

Regular check-ups are very much essential

If you are getting screen tests done as a regular check-up of your health, you will be much benefitted because screening tests can alert you about anything wrong before the symptoms can surface.

Regular Blood pressure checks can reveal about your cholesterol level. If you want to get your high cholesterol level checked, screening is the best alternative.

The examples of screening are 1) reading of your blood pressure, 2) colonoscopy check-up is helpful to know about the symptoms of colon cancer. This test needs special equipment. In case you are visiting such a hospital where the check-up is not possible, you are advised to the other hospital where you can get your colonoscopy checked.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Those males, who were ever been a smoker and are in between 65 and 75, are advised to get your AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) checked. AAA means your abdominal aorta has a bulging and which may burst at any time, causing serious bleeding and leading towards death.

An ultra sound test will also be beneficial for those in their superannuation

An ultra sound test is fully painless procedure for diagnosing different types of abdomen area based diseases for the elderly people. This test will also be especially beneficial to those who have superannuated in their life’s journey. The painless procedure will detect about the presence of any disease, not to specially mention about the aneurysm type of diseases.
