ð The success rate of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is almost 25 per cent. But when this therapy is combined with IBC (intensive behavioral counseling) the success rate goes up to 35 to 45 per cent.
ð Substances of nicotine interact with different types of medicines which are taken for other health conditions and also have different types of side-effects. So they are always harmful for human bodies.
ð A prescription medicine, Varenicline (Chantix) is useful for adults when they decide to quit smoking. The working of the Varenicline (Chantix) is very effective, as its action takes place in the same receptor where nicotine acts and produces its effect. The nicotine produces its effect in the brain which results stimulation in the particular receptors. The action impedes the ability of the nicotine to act on the very receptor & its attached areas.
ð Zyban or Wellbutrin or Bupropion is a prescription drug. Doctors prescribe this drug for its result oriented effect to those smoke addicted persons who want rehabilitation as a measure of quitting smoking.
